The reason to cast out demons is that Jesus called us to preach and to have authority to cast out the demons.  He went up on the montain and summoned thosed whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him. And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach and to have authority to cast out the demons. (Mark 3:13-15) Do demons exist now like the time of Jesus?  Casting out evil in the name Jesus is the commandment to all disciples of Jesus.  Evil spirits are real even now. The truth is not affected by times and places.  The devil and its cohosts are deceiving people to believe the extreme way; ignoring or fearing. Satan and the devil are the different names of the same one.  The name Satan is used to describe the illegal one who rebelled against God, but  Devil is the name of the one who has the legal right to attack man. God has allowed man to be tempted, attacked, and cursed by Satan. By creating man in God’s own image and placing him in the universe where Satan was imprisoned, He allowed Satan to become the Devil.  When he rebelled against God, the fallen angel was called Satan . When a man was created to be used as the vessel to judge the fallen angel by due process, Satan was called Devil . The word Satan means, “the one that rebelled against God”, and there is no verse in the Bible that commands believers to resist Satan. But the word Devil  points to the one who divided the relationship between God and man, leading him to destruction. The Bible shows that behind all the works of God, the Devil stands as the enemy. However, it does not mean that the Devil is in equal status with God. God does not fight with him; He just condemns and judges the Devil. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8b).              The Bible bears witness to the Son of God who came into the world. What is the meaning to depend on the Word to drive out demons? Jesus drove out demons with the words. (Matthew 8:16)  What the demons fear the most is the word of God.  When Jesus was tempted by the devil, what did He do to defeat the temptation?  It was the Word of God. The Lord said three times “For it is written….” Jesus, the Son of God, rebuked the devil with the words written in the Bible that we are using now , Even when people suffered, the Lord drove out demons, nothing else but with the word of God. ‘Driving out demons with the Word’ doesn’t mean driving them out just by sounds of words, but it is done with the legal power of the Children of God who has the name of Jesus .
